Detail from Gulach 2006 by Terry Ngamandara Wilson

Friday 28 February 2020

CAEPR would like to invite applications for the position of:

Research Fellow - ANU Academic Level B

Salary package: $99,809 - $113,165 per annum plus 17% superannuation

Terms: Full time, Fixed term until 30 June 2021 (Part time will be considered)

Position overview

The Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research (CAEPR) in the College of Arts of Social Sciences (CASS) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow (Academic Level B) to carry out economic and social science research on Australian Indigenous policy that is of international and disciplinary standard and informs intellectual understanding, public debate, policy formation and social action. The successful applicant will divide their time between two funded research projects relating to urban Indigenous development, so although this is a full-time position, there is scope for the position to be divided into two part-time positions and applicants interested in a part-time appointment are also encouraged to apply.

We are seeking someone with high-level qualitative and/or quantitative research skills, a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed books, journals and policy-focused reports, and a demonstrated capacity to build strong relationships with Indigenous communities and organisations, researchers, and policy makers. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated success in applying for competitive grants and in carrying out commissioned research. CAEPR is a highly collaborative research environment and we are seeking a colleague with experience in and commitment to collaborative research.

The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is one of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 57 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both. We also host 13 Australian Research Council Future Fellows and three ARC Laureates. A hub of vibrant activity, we host more than 270 lectures, concerts and exhibitions each year, most of which are open to the public. Our students, staff and graduates come from more than 60 nations, bringing a diversity of perspective to campus life.
